The Lower Kinnaird beat is 2 miles double bank fishing, and starts with the junction of the Tay and
Tummel rivers. Junction pool, ferry stream, swimming pool, Island stream, green bank, ash
trees, new pool, fir trees, Kindallachan and Guay pool are the best pools on the beat.
It ranks as one of the best fly beats on the entire Tay system and Lower Kinnaird fishing
has had the pleasure of accommodating members of the royal family in years past.

|
The methods allowed are fly,
spinning and worm.
When high a boat can be used harling with a Ghillie. Boats are used
at the Ghillies discretion, as this beat is not always navigable at all heights.
Lower Kinnaird will fish at all heights, but it is at it's absolute best
as a lovely fly beat at low water. Almost all the pools on the beat
will fish the fly in low water conditions, and it can easily accommodate 6 bank rods fly fishing simultaneously.

In the spring of 2002 one Kinnaird angler hooked a fish on fly, and played it for over 2 hours,
before, unfortunately, losing it.
This beat
can also produce a number of sea trout in the summer months and the best times to fish
for them is at the end of the day (at dusk).
The beat is easily fished from the bank or by wading, and we absolutely insist
that life-jackets are worn at all times when fishing. The whole beat is easily accessed by car with at least 6 car parking
spots.
|
| This is considered a six rod beat. To reserve the beat exclusively
it is required for a party to pay for six rods, even if there are to be fewer in number.
Guests may reserve up to eight rods and will be charged on a pro rata basis.

| UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES IS ROD SHARING ALLOWED. |
